Sports Massage & Sports Therapy Sports Massage and Therapy deals with a problem area of the body. It is aimed at speeding up the body’s repair mechanisms and encourages flexibility in the soft tissue. It can be used to speed recovery from injury and to enhance performance. Sports Massage, like other forms of
massage promotes relaxation of the muscles, which can help
prevent against
strains and sprains and improve flexibility. What happens in a therapy session? At your first consultation you will be seen by a registered, qualified and experienced Therapist, who will initially take a full medical history and conduct a full body assessment before discussing with you any problem areas which are of particular concern such as any current injuries you may have, before massaging or treating the area with either ultrasound or infra-red in order to alleviate pain and to encourage the muscles to heal themselves. The initial session will last 1˝ hours including your full body assessment and treatment recommended by the Therapist. Second and further treatments will be 1 hour in length.
