Podiatry (Chiropody) & Foot Healthcare

Podiatry is the treatment of human feet, in both health and disease.  You may know Podiatry by the name of Chiropody - there is no difference between a HPC Registered Chiropodist or Podiatrist.

As well as helping you to keep healthy feet healthy, your Foot Healthcare Professional also diagnoses and treats disorders, diseases and deformities of the feet.

Feet are very complex structures and most people rely heavily on their feet on a daily basis, taking over 10 thousands steps per day.  It is therefore important that we look after our feet with great care.

Podiatry & Foot Healthcare can improve mobility and help maintain active healthy feet.

What happens in a treatment session?

At your initial consultation you will be seen by a registered, qualified, insured and experienced Foot Healthcare Professional, who will take a full medical history, conduct several minor examinations of your feet to assess them and then with your consent, carry out a full treatment.

Each treatment session lasts for half an hour and consists of callus, corn and hard skin removal, toenail trimming and in-growing nail maintenance.  This is often completed with a foot massage and advice on how best to look after your feet.

Your Foot Healthcare Professional will advise you on correct footwear, exercises to improve foot function and general tips needed to maintain healthy active feet.
