Stephen Gardiner MChS MInstChP DPodM In April 2006 Stephen set up the “A Foot Above Clinic” where he is the Clinical Director. In early 2007 he gained National Accreditation status for the Clinic with the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists and he is also an active member of the Institute of Chiropodists and Podiatrists. He has evolved a team around him who have an interest in treating people's injuries especially in motion. Stephen trained in the Royal Navy and at Liverpool College of Chiropody for three years enabling him to become a Member of the Society of Chiropodist and a Registered Chiropodist. Stephen has extensive experience in managing many foot and foot-related conditions, having worked in the Royal Navy for 10 years, specialising in Trauma and Sports Injury Management. Stephen has not only treated painful nails, corns, calluses and verrucae pedis but continues to treat gait related problems using orthotic therapy. This enables the treatment of symptoms resulting from lower limb overuse injuries of the feet, ankles, knees, hips, lower back pain and even headache and jaw pain. He has gained much insight into treating patients using this therapy and a multi-disciplinary approach to injuries in general.
Stephen attends many courses each year keeping up with the continuing
professional development (CPD), including extensive training in the field of
Biomechanics, where he trained with Professor Jourdain in France; this is a
speciality of his, available to patients of any age with many diverse injuries
resulting from overuse. |
