Chiropody and Sports Injury Clinic, “A Foot Above”, puts best foot forward for the people of Beeston, putting a spring into their step. The new business operating from 8 Wollaton Road, is where HPC Registered Chiropodist Stephen Gardiner tends to clients fatigued feet and sporting injuries; whatever their age. This second “A Foot Above” clinic in the East Midlands has also gained National Accreditation for its clinical practice after being assessed and audited by the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists. Much of this work is down to Stephen who brings the same first class clinical practices from his successful Ilkeston Branch. Stephen, an ex-serviceman with his extended knowledge of Chiropody and Sports Medicine, continues to thank The Royal British Legion for their help and support in establishing his first clinic back in 2005. Stephen said, “It is fascinating to see the diversity of foot and gait problems that people encounter; all the way through from small children to the aged foot. ‘A Foot Above’ has come a long way since opening our first clinic with the aide of The Royal British Legion.” “Most of our work starts with foot problems such as corns, callus, verrucae or ingrown toenails; to extended problems which involve Biomechanical Assessments/Gait analysis for custom made orthotics – shoe inserts which can alleviate foot, gait and back pain problems.” The Beeston clinic officially welcomed The Worshipful The Mayor of Broxtowe Borough Council, Cllr Sue Wildey and invited guests on 18th June 2008, where Mr Gardiner was presented with a cheque from Broxtowe Borough Council in support of the “Keeping up Appearances” grant scheme. The new clinic, brings together first class Chiropody services into the 21st Century making a real difference to people’s lives. The clinic will bring clear benefits to the local community from a modern and professional facility. |
