As part of the week leading up to Remembrance Sunday, ITV Central News paid tribute to the men and women who've laid down their lives for their country. They also highlighted the work carried out by the Royal British Legion and the help provided to servicemen and women. To see the full report, click here Stephen Gardiner, Chiropodist at A Foot Above said "...without The Legion, I wouldn't have got where I am today". Speaking of donations to the Poppy Appeal, he said "That pound can go a long way. It can provide somebody with something like financial help; it can provide welfare support; it can maybe provide some medical and counselling or psychological help - that (ex service personnel) have not been able to get. So, it means a great amount and (the general public) should wear their poppy with pride." |
